February 13, 2020Harmony 4 Hope is excited to bring our mission and our tune to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin on February 28, 2020, in celebration of World Rare Disease Day. This incredibly special event will feature both rockin’ H4H Musical Ambassadors, Trapper Schoepp & Cameron James. We are also delighted to welcome to the stage Associate Director of Undiagnosed and Rare Diseases/Genomic Sciences & Precision Medicine Center, Donald Basel, M.D., who will be delivering a special address.
Showtimes are 10:00 Children’s Auditorium & 12:30 Teen Lounge
February 29 marks the 13th annual global celebration of World Rare Disease Day – a time for people across the globe to come together and recognize the 350 million people worldwide who are collectively impacted by 7,000 different life-limiting and life-threatening rare diseases, more than half of which affect children and young adults.
In addition to hosting this private event, H4H will be gifting CD players, CD’s and a Beamz Musical System to support the music therapists at CHW and their mission to enrich the lives of children and young adults facing medical challenges.
An instrumental component of the H4H mission is to uplift affected children with music and music therapy because we believe that music has healing power. We couldn’t have said it any better than our amazing musical ambassador, Trapper Schoepp:
“A really important part of music is the escapism it can give people. When you’re struggling with something… if you can transport yourself in a melody it can take you somewhere else.”
During the month of February, we invite you to walk the way with patients and learn more about Rare Diseases and the H4H mission to Rock Rare. Please take time to visit our installment in the Lower Level Gallery.
